This week’s assignment will expose you to advocacy, research, funding, and professional organizations that influence health policy. These organizations will likely appear in the scholarly literature that you review for your dissertation.

Choose 3 non-governmental health organizations (NGOs) from the list below and visit their websites:

1. • American Heart Association®  
   • American Cancer Society®
   • American Diabetes Association® (ADA®)
   • The Commonwealth Fund
   • Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
   • Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI)
   • Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) 

Create a 12- to 16-slide presentation in which you describe the complex system of health policy. In your presentation:

1. • Describe each organization’s mission, funding sources, and stakeholders.
   • Present highlights of a major program initiative sponsored by each organization.
   • Explain how each NGO influences health policy at a global and national and/or local level.

Additionally, include the following:

1. • Title, Introduction, Conclusion, and Reference slides
   • Detailed speaker notes with citations for each slide

Cite at least 5 scholarly sources to support your descriptions and analysis.

Format your citations according to APA guidelines.
